PhysioPD is a Proven Approach

PhysioPD™ models have proven to be an effective approach in a wide variety of disease areas, including cardiovascular disease, diabetes, neuropathic pain, antivirals, immune dysfunction, countermeasures against bioterrorism, and many other areas.

PhysioPD is a powerful new approach for drug-disease modeling and simulation - even in situations with limited or no clinical data. PhysioPD extends Rosa’s capabilities into areas where classic PK/PD modeling is less informative.

PhysioPD Data Sources

PhysioPD models incorporate data from proprietary and public sources, similar to those used by PK/PD models. However, because PhysioPD models include explicit mechanistic processes, they also offer the ability to use data directly from additional sources: cellular experiments, physiologic pathway studies, disease process literature, and drug action hypotheses.

PhysioPD models are constrained by physical laws, like homeostasis or conservation of mass and energy. This enables remarkable predictive power regarding drug effect, even without clinical data.

PhysioPD Modeling Process

The process of modeling is as important as the resulting model.

Rosa’s collaborative approach and experienced professionals ensure that our models meet our clients’ decision-making needs and yield defensible insights that compliment their judgment.
Compared to other mechanistic models, Rosa’s custom-designed PhysioPD models are relatively inexpensive to develop, easier to understand, and faster to run on a standard desktop computer.

Rosa models are built on publicly-available, third-party modeling software. Our clients receive the finished model, and during the project, acquire the capability to use it, if they wish.
